What Happens to Your Revenue When You Ignore QA?

Quality Assurance (QA) is when companies, usually involved in software development and interactive services, deem their product fit for end-consumer usage. While quality assurance is the conglomerate of activities designed to ensure the product behaves as intended, testing is the process by which defects can be found. Regardless of being two separate activities, both processes are usually grouped.

In terms of
benefits, quality assurance testing ensures that improvements within your product happen before reaching the end consumer. QA testing benefits include, among others:

      • Saving money: if there are bugs in your system, quality assurance testing can catch them before the end product is rolled out. By doing this, QA testing saves you losing money in maintenance and users after the software is live.

      • Building (not dismantling) your brand’s reputation: your customers will entrust your company with further projects by continuously implementing quality assurance testing. This, in turn, will boost your business’ reputation for delivering good, quality products.

      • Increasing profits: investing in QA testing means you can market and sell your product at a premium. Having the gold star of QA testing, customers will be more inclined to buy your product due to the assurance that the software is up to standard. This customer confidence and a good, quality product will increase your profits in the long run.

But— what happens when you ignore QA?

If you
ignore QA, different parts of your business will suffer.

QA testing
lets developers know what’s wrong with a product before it goes live or is sold to a third party. If quality assurance testing is ignored in your product’s development phase, the benefits that your business may have experienced are no longer in the picture.

Sure, you’ll save money, in a way, if you
ignore QA testing, but you’ll lose so much more. By ignoring quality assurance testing, the money you save will be the investment you would’ve put into it, but you’ll lose the money your happy customers would’ve brought in.

As for your brand’s image,
ignoring quality assurance testing will ultimately hurt your reputation. If you roll out a product that doesn’t work, your customers’ confidence in your brand will diminish, making your company untrustworthy and tedious.

If you
ignore QA testing, different parts of your business will suffer. By ignoring QA testing, your user base may be dissatisfied with your product. A product that doesn’t work means unhappy customers. Unhappy customers mean a smaller, if any, user base. A smaller user base means decreasing revenue for your business and ultimately failing the company.

Think of investing in
QA as safeguarding the revenue you’ll earn in due time. By implementing QA testing as you develop your software, your future customers will be happy, and your developers will have fewer headaches. Ultimately, your business will thrive!
